TRONG CAVE – THE LEGEND OF INTENSE LOVE

Ha Long Bay is known for its exotic stone islets formations, and the rosin shimmering inside the caves. Along with that, when tourists come to HaLong also known the natural here belongs with a legend handed down in Vietnam’s folk. The Trong (Male) Cave is one of them. The Trong Cave along with others in the same cave systems as: Sung Sot Cave, Dong Tien Lake, Luon Cave; which is not only attracting visitors by the stalactites and beautiful sight but they are also attracted by the touching love story of a couple.

Trong (Male) Cave is located opposite to the Virgin Cave, with two large and interconnected openings East - West through two cliffs. Inside the cave there are silver quartz beads hanging down the cave, and there is a statue of a petrified man facing the Virgin Cave.
Many visitors to the Trong Cave heard the legend of a couple's love story. Previously, the male and female statues in the caves and they were a couple. When he heard the girl in distress at sea, the young man was looking for her. In a stormy night, the boat broke and he washed up a deserted island. In the blink of an eye, he looked out and saw the girl. He tried to call his lovers but his words were swept away by the wind. He used the stone to knock on the cliff to signal to the girl that he had come; and he knocked until exhausted and petrified. Since then, the Trong Cave has been formed with the stone statue of a man facing to his lover.
