Two stories behind

Before the name “Ti Top”, this island was sacredly called “Cemetery” as a memorial to the unfortunate French sailors who died in the horrid 1905 incident, when their supply vessel crossed a reef and sunk in the area.
In 1922, this lovely island had the honor to welcome the Soviet Union astronaut Ghermann Titov in his visit accompanied by President Ho Chi Minh. Afterwards, Uncle Ho named the island “Ti Top”, after the Soviet Union hero to memorize the meaningful trip. Thirty-five years later, when Titov returned to the island having his name, he was deeply moved and wrote in the souvenir book of the Management Board of Halong bay that "My deepest thanks to destiny, which has allowed me to come back to this tiny island".

Nowadays, although Ti Top Island has become a crowded destination for tourists from all over the world, its beauty is a still bless from Mother Nature. The green rocky landscapes emerge from the butter crescent-shaped sand. The bright sky glows shining beams from the sun. The small waves collide with the blue clear water surface. Ti Top beach truly is a dreaming destination to spend your day when all your energy runs out. Other than the romantic scenario, tourists might enjoy various activities like swimming, kayaking, skydiving and other sea-sports.
